It was a white Christmas in Germany for our little flock. The snow started on the 24th and really didn't let up until we came home on the 3rd. Great opportunities for some frozen photos,

and one total failure. The fence post was supposed to be the only color in a field (literally) of white. But, without a horizon or any other grounding information, it just looks odd.

Well, so did the day.

getting knitty with it

Round about October, I started to knit. This was my second attempt, and it seems to have worked out well so far. I was inspired to start by Raina of Kimchi and Crochet.

What I didn't know when I started is that two of my children's foster moms knit. No jokes about red threads here, but the coincidence has certainly given me pause.

I started with scarves then moved on to a hat for Big Brother. For Christmas, I made each of the cousins a gnome hat (pattern from schmeebot) in their team colors. Then, I bedazzled a gnome hat for a teacher's daughter, The Blonde, and The Boy.

Currently I'm working on a pair of socks, a scarf for my mom, and something for me. Don't know what, yet, but I do know it will be made using my favorite yarn: Manos del Uruguay.
